The June 17 meeting will be a roundtable--a chance to chat, discuss projects, and ask those questions about radio matters that you've been losing sleep over. We'll also discuss whether, and on what scale, to mount a presence at the Arlington County Fair 2003, August 21-24.

Arlington Amateur Radio Club station W4WVP participated in the annual Field Day contest Saturday, June 28 (starting 2pm EDT) and Sunday, June 29 (ending 2pm EDT), at its usual operating location at the Arlington Chapter of the American Red Cross. We invited the public to visit us during this emergency communications exercise, and many visitors did. We operated class 9F; class F is a new category consisting of stations operating at Emergency Operations Centers (EOCs), such as Red Cross and government EOCs. A good time, and great fare (TU KR4MU!), were had by all who attended.
Field Day 2002. We ranked 1 in class 8E.

Field Day 2001. We ranked 1 in class 11E.

Field Day 2000. We ranked 1 in class 9E.

Field Day 1999. We ranked 6 in class 3D.

Field Day 1998. We ranked 1 in class 8D.

Field Day 1997. We ranked 2 in class 4D.

Field Day 1996.

Field Day 1995.
President Jack WA4FXX called the meeting to order at 1940L at the Arlington Chapterhouse of the American Red Cross, and began with a round of introductions. Also attending were Alan KO4ALA, John WD4MIS, George KR4MU, Mike KA8OPJ, Dennis W4PWF, Paul KG4PXF, Gary KC7TNU, Keith KG4UIR, Mike NW3V, Jaskaran KG4YIQ, Dan N8YSZ, and Ian-almost-licensed.
The minutes of the May meeting, as published on the webpage and distributed by e-mail, were approved and the treasurer's report was read. [WD4MIS is still accepting annual dues payments.]
WA4FXX and KG4UIR arranged for mailing notices about Field Day to a selected list, including local GMRS licensees, possibly prospective hams or at least good neighbors.
W4PWF reported little news from WARC03 in Geneva, although they're still working on 7MHz. Some petitions for reconsideration on the 60m allocation are still active. FARfest and the 9/11 run (on 9/6/03 were mentioned.
WA4FXX polled interest in the Arlington County Fair 8/21-24. It may be possible to borrow a Red Cross van or an Excursion for the occasion.
Discussion on the W4WVP antenna farm and Field Day preparations continued. We'll operate Class F at the Red Cross.
Respectfully submitted,
Mike KA8OPJ, Secretary
