The May 16 meeting of the Arlington Amateur Radio Club will be held at the usual time (1930L) and place (4333 Arlington Blvd).
Mike Steussy/AE4R ("The Wizard of Boat Anchor Mountain"- KO4ALA) will be talking about the wonders of boat anchors.

KG4RKL gave report. In addition to cash balance, the club has 5 patches remaining.
WA4FXX: Please get numbers for ordering more patches.
Dennis/W4PWF: 100 million QSOs in Logbook of the World (LOTW). WAS award up and running. Trying to make mulitple call signs easier to handle. No report from FCC on spread spectrum petition.
KO4ALA: can league write a letter about moving on the code issue?
W4PWF: will check, but probably have done everything they can.
KO4ALA: ADA tour d'cure coming up. wants to check setup at Arlington ECC to make sure all the antennas are hooked up and radios working. Also looking for list of shelters from Red Cross so we can do comms checks. If we need to shelter in place at schools, there is possibly no communications except for the school bus net. Looking into it. Also, the National Weather Service in Sterling is having an open house soon, looks interesting.
WA4FXX: any report on VAQP showing?
KG4VNC: logs were submitted, haven't shown up on line yet. Deadline was 4/15, so they're probably still tabulating.
WA4FXX: Roy's antenna all done.
AI4GO: made test contacts with KG4VNC, none other than that
KA8OPJ: back in town for a while, everything all ready to put up 440 antenna
KR4MU: the wood on the antenna tower needs painting, may try to do that at the same time as installing the antenna.
KA8OPJ: want to do it before June
W4PWF: Nomic is working
WB4AKK submitted his online previous to the meeting. He spoke briefly about his work with AF/MARS including ALE [Automatic Link Establishment, not the stuff we drink - Ed.] The vote was taken, and WB4AKK was admitted to the club. Welcome, Ken! A few other applications had been submitted but the applicants haven't come to a meeting.
WA4FXX: Field day, if people want to operate for Field Day, we need to write letter to Red Cross requesting use of room. [several people indicated interest in operating from the club for field day, and WA4FXX produced a letter asking for said permission]
KG4RKL: will order pins and shirts, provided information [More information coming soon via email -Ed.] WA4FXX: are there volunteers for the Field Day committee? NW3V: will be cheerleader and on committee KR4MU: will be on food committee with KI4DTP NW3V: how did people feel about the WB6ZQZ logging software last year? [four people indicated they liked it fine, nobody reported using it and not liking it] KO4ALA: working with Vienna Wireless Society and TJ ham club to set up GOTA station. lots of interest at both places. Maybe we should look up the cubs who came out for JOTA and see if they'd be interested in coming out? WA4FXX: do we need joint charter for Tuesday night net? NW3v: do we want to make any legal changes re: standing of Tuesday night net? [some discussion ensued about history of the net] KG4RKL suggested someone give a discussion of Red Cross badges for newcomers KI4DTP talked about what's involved in becoming a Red Cross volunteer and getting a badge.At 2037L the meeting was adjourned by unanimous consent
