Minutes and Finances

WA4FXX- Minutes publised on web- MSP to accept

Treasurer absent, no report.

ARRL Report

Dennis/W4PWF- No gory details right now. Quiet all around right now. League determined to do nothing on regulation by bandwidth right now. back from VA beach hamfest- good turnout. increased attendance from last year league is currently working on easier way to log on to LOTW. lots of people say that it's hard to login to, especially the first time. electronic field checking will be available by end of the year. what is this? dxcc checkers can put info from physical cards into electronic system. this is the hardest part of the process.

EmComm

wa4fxx- recommended cert classes- very worthwhile, take care of yourself and help take care of your neighbors. no continuing commitment required after the training.

Alan/KO4ALA- MCM is devouring SET preparation- haven't heard a thing about SET. marines have added several new jobs along the course. this year need 120 hams instead of 100 like last year. As of last week they only had half the volunteers they needed. sign up online at http://ncacdc.com

Chuck/ki4dhw- was victim at reagan airport test- once again, our professional first responders are first rate.

andre/ki4thf was down at baggage claim in terminal c- coordinating transport of victims- could receive fine but not transmit. interesting experience. ian/ki4dtp- trouble communicating within building with uhf handhelds

art/w4art- it's an architectural problem- metallized mylar film on windows makes rf mirror

Old Business

wa4fxx- RTTY roundup sunday 9/30 barring emergencies. opening 1100l close when interest wanes or 1600l

w4art- made up sample badges from artwork of club logo, will show it to people and see if anyone wants to get badges made.

wa4fxx- va 400th anniversary- county isn't going to do anything else. if anybody wants to sign up to lead that then let him know.

w4pwf- field day- we are most likely the only entry in the category

wa4fxx- hurricane season still with us, ten weeks left, keep your batteries charged and go kits ready

New Business

ken- wb4akk- was thinking about screwdriver antenna- dk3 all band hf mobile antenna. if anybody is interested see him w4art donated a webster band spanner mobile antenna

wa4fxx- ian/dtp sent idea for solar charger project. on the league publishing site they're putting together package of 40m qrp rig/book. as winter approaches we might consider these types of things for projects.

wa4fxx- any potential jota participation- 21st of october. if we need to get the room reserved we should do that soon. mcm 11/28, arrl ssb ss 11/18- can open up on sunday if people are interested- send wa4fxx email if interested

wa4fxx- elections in november, anyone who wants to become new officer let somebody know

Adjournment

The meeting was adjourned at 2020

Respectfully submitted,
--Adam, AI4QB
