Arlington Amateur Radio Club
Field Day 1997
Arlington Amateur Radio Club members operated club station W4WVP Class 4D at it's permanent QTH at the Arlington Chapter of the American Red Cross during Field Day 1997.
We made hundreds of voice, Morse, and packet radio contacts, as well as a contact via the Radio Sputnik 12/13 satellite with K4HTA, the Vienna Wireless Society club station.
We were also front page news, with a color photo, in the Arlington Journal on July 1, 1997.
We had so much fun that we were surprised to learn that we had earned second place in class 4d!
